Clear communication and following through are the keys to success. She enjoys seeing owners reactions when they see what their dogs are capable of and the confidence the dogs gain through training.

Learn More About Kelly

Kelly’s dog training experience began after rescuing a dog that had food aggression. Having owned dogs for over 20 years she had never experienced something like this before. Through time and training the transformation that she had seen in her dog was incredible. This sparked her interest in the dog training field and lead her to Casey Ray’s STL Dog Trainers.

In Kelly’s opinion, training your dog is something not to be rushed or discontinued after obedience is learned. It is a bonding experience with your dog that should continue to grow. Clear communication and following through are the keys to success. She enjoys seeing owners reactions when they see what their dogs are capable of and the confidence the dogs gain through training.

Due to her husband being a diabetic, Kelly has a strong interest in the area of service dog work. She continues to do self study in that area and one day hopes to get the opportunity to work in the service dog field.

On days that she isn’t training dogs, Kelly is busy tending to the business end of things. She’s in charge of our accounting program, payroll, taxes and all of those other exciting non dog related parts of the business!

Finding what motivates the dog. Thinking outside the box to help a dog understand and enjoy what we’re teaching.

Favorite Breeds

Rottweiler, Border collie and Belgian Malinois

I started working in the pet care field at 16, by working at a veterinary office. I quickly learned that I was more interested in dogs specifically, and helping people learn how they could enjoy their dog more. I love seeing the bond between dog and owner created and strengthened by showing people their dogs potential, and how they can fulfill that.

Learn More About Halie

Halie had been helping friends with their dog’s behavior issues for a few years. She then heard of Casey through research on the web. Once she saw all the reviews she e-mailed him to get more information. She completed the required schooling under his mentorship and immediately was offered a job.

Halie always liked working with the dogs people say are “unfixable” or “untrainable”. She has a lot of patience so when clients want their kids involved in the training she’s really good with taking the extra time to help them. The most rewarding thing to Halie is seeing how much happier the dogs are once they start their training and exercise. Working with dogs is what Halie loves to do and she feels she’s very lucky to be able to do that professionally.

Learn More About Juan Carlos

Juan Carlos started learning about dog psychology in 2004. His interests on how dogs think and learn sparked his desire to know more about the subject. Everything he learned was successfully applied to dogs that belonged to family and friends.

In 2007 he decided to get his own puppy to teach him the basics of dog obedience from the very beginning. This puppy was an Alaskan Malamute named Chuck. Chuck was having a different idea from what Juan Carlos had pictured about him. Growing up to be a very confident and dominant 120 pound Alaskan Malamute, Chuck was definitely a “once in a lifetime” dog that you don’t see very often. His power and dominance tested every aspect that Juan knew about dog psychology to the max.

Juan Carlos asked Casey for that extra step he needed to help his dog reach his full potential. Chuck went from being a dominant dog to an off leash good canine citizen in only four and a half months with Casey’s help. Casey saw that Juan’s knowledge about how dogs think was greater than a typical dog owner. He asked Juan to help with group classes and invited him to work for the company.

Juan owns more than 20 books about dog psychology and has attended various seminars conducted by Cesar Millan, Nicole Wilde and others. His knowledge about dog aggression and body language is an important key to help rehabilitate dogs that other trainers have rejected. Juan’s philosophy is simple: “The biggest obstacle to a dog’s rehabilitation is the human’s mind”.
